Road Trip to Leona Vicario, Quintana Roo, Mexico
My first ride outside the city of Cancun and off the highway into the bush, or countryside. Following the D180 National route to Leona Vicario, a sleepy little Puebla 45 minutes outside Cancun.
Leona Vicario is named after the wife of Independent figure Andres Quintana Roo. The little village had 6500 plus counted inhabitants in 2010 and I doubt any more have been added over the years. because it is away from the tourist area it was my first taste of Mexican life in the countryside. And I must say: I like what I see.
Check out for yourself, a little riding, walking through the town, and a visit to the tiny colorful cemetery.
The upcoming videos will be about this area, the route the Cenotes, the town of Puerto Morelos, not the tourist area, and a little road going from Puerto Morelos following the coast, and to enter the highway Chetumal-Cancun near Croco Zoo.
